About Me
Adrian J. Moreno is a 30-something Enterprise Web Architect specializing in ColdFusion application development and web development instruction.
I've been working with ColdFusion since 1997 when I was the webmaster for the UNT School of Visual Arts. In 1999, I jumped on a newsgroup search engine, searched for "Dallas HTML", applied to the 2nd result and was hired two weeks later. Thus began my corporate career.
Since then, I've been fortunate to have worked for some pretty big players: GetThere (Sabre, travel), Nationwide (401k) and Unitrin (Insurance). Currently, I'm a Senior Web Developer for Study Island, a Dallas-based Educational Services company.
As of July 2008, I am the Co-Manager of the DFW ColdFusion User Group.
Do you really know Kung Fu?
Back in college, I was the Student Leader for the UNT Martial Arts group. We practiced Mixed Martial Arts before MMA was a common term. Most recently, I studied Pekiti Tirsia with a group here in Dallas. Technically, I've got a green belt in Tae Kwon Do, but that was years before I got into MMA. My sensei just describes me as "very dangerous". Now my brother, he's got a black belt in Kung Fu.
Yeah, don't mess with us. Was-sa!
Hobbies
When I'm not programming, you can find me playing games online (i.e. CoD4, TF2, Left 4 Dead), sitting down to a game of Texas Hold'em or working out in the gym.
My current must-watch TV shows include The Shield, Heroes, My Name is Earl, Lost, Battlestar Galactica, Entourage, South Park and pretty much any poker show. My favorite musicians are Rush, Prince, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Gloria Estefan, Los Lonely Boys and Santana.
